Product design is the core of what I do. Designing software that’s useful and brings joy to users is the very reason I started working in this industry in the first place.

Over the years, I’ve led teams and done hands-on work for companies in a wide range of verticals. From music to gaming, healthcare, food, education, social networks, and travel (you name it) for the likes of Adobe, Riot Games, Google, 23andMe, Lonely Planet, Microsoft, and Playground AI, among others. I’ve done this while working at agencies but also in-house for companies like Microsoft, where I led the Music and Video experiences in Windows 10, their Fluent Design Creative Direction, and currently for Opal with Composer, a macOS companion app for your Opal Cameras.

Besides the name-dropping, I believe designing a product is an act of world-building. There are basic fundamentals to the process, but it’s the small percentage of personality, joy, and magic (!) that brings it all together and makes it unique. I can’t describe how much joy this process brings me.

I’ve partnered with companies like Google, Microsoft, Kayak and Oculus among others researching, ideating, testing, validating and story telling brand new products in new and exciting spaces. There is something magical when an idea once envisioned in a room with a reduced group of people is validated through research and ends up becoming a real product or a guiding piece towards a real product for people to see and experience. These projects can take many different shapes. I’ve done some where the final goal was to craft a usable product, testable prototypes and outline the case for a product and others where the final output was to create a film with a simple, yet compelling narrative.

I thrive in contributing and leading these projects even though they end up being highly confidential.

Product launches & landing pages.

A big big part of my career has been devoted to working on websites celebrating or supporting the launch of products or services. Over the years I've worked on and directed experiences for companies such as Lonely Planet, redoing their homepage back in 2016, CNN, EA, Activison, the first iteration of Apple Newsroom, Decentraland at launch or recently the web framework and landing pages for the new products at Opalcamera.com.

The web is, still to this day, an exciting space to craft experiences and tell stories. I love ideating, designing and directing all the materials needed (3D, Photography, illustrations) to create memorable moments, push what’s possible on the web and tell the best story possible.

As an extension of my work on digital platforms I’ve had the opportunity to work and lead teams working on physical installations part of temporary and permanent exhibitions in events and office buildings. I’ve done some of this work for Microsoft in the past and recently with the Huge Inc team for Google in one of their most recent owned buildings in Mountain View.

I’m extremely passionate about future ambient interfaces and mixed reality use cases. I had the opportunity to extend my regular product work to MR/AR while at Microsoft and later with Oculus a few years ago and have been incorporating that to my work ever since.

My work as a designer, and as a leader wouldn’t be possible without the teams of ICs and managers I’ve been fortunate to lead and assemble and nurture over the years. During my time at Huge Inc. I led the Oakland office and built a team of over 20 people that included creative directors, visual designers, copywriters, experience designers, motion and 3D artists.
